The Experience

I still laugh thinking about how nervous I was standing by the docks at Nemo Watersports, clutching my phone like it might save me from actually getting on a jet ski. The marina was already humming — engines, voices, that salty heat you only get in Dubai. Our instructor, Khaled, grinned and handed me gloves (“for grip,” he said), then ran through the safety briefing so quickly I had to ask twice about the kill switch. He didn’t mind. Honestly, his patience put me at ease more than the life jacket did.

Once we got going, everything changed — water smacking my legs, sunlight bouncing off the Burj Al Arab in that weird way where you can’t tell if it’s real or just some mirage.
