The experience

You get picked up from your Dubai hotel in a 4x4 Land Cruiser and driven straight into the dunes. The vehicle tackles the sand with a rhythm that feels like controlled chaos: the driver angles the truck down steep slopes and accelerates across flat stretches while you grip the seat. This is dune bashing, and it is the core of the afternoon. After the driving settles, you stop for a sunset photograph with the dunes turning gold behind you, then move on to the Bedouin camp where the rest of the experience unfolds.

At the camp you can ride a camel, get henna painted on your hands, dress in traditional Arabic costume for photos, or try sandboarding on a nearby slope.
