The experience

The safari starts with a hotel pickup and a drive that takes roughly 90 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah, passing landmarks and city views before the landscape opens into the Arabian Desert. Once you reach the first desert stop, you'll have access to washroom facilities and the option to add quad biking (a 30-minute or 1-hour ride on fully automatic 4x4 quad bikes across the dunes), if it's not already part of your package. Meanwhile, your driver deflates the vehicle's tires to prepare for the main event.

Dune bashing is the centerpiece: you'll climb into a Land Cruiser and hold on as the driver takes you on an off-road ride that climbs steep dunes, slides down slopes, and races across the terrain. After the ride, you can try sandboarding: strap on a board and glide down the soft dunes much like snowboarding on sand. A short camel ride follows at the camp, giving you a chance to photograph yourself on the "ship of the desert" before the evening entertainment begins.

At the Bedouin-style camp, you're welcomed with fresh dates and Arabic coffee, then settle in for a BBQ buffet dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The evening features live performances (Tanoura dance, belly dance, and a fire show), while you relax with free shisha in the lounge or pose for photos in traditional Arabic attire. Your driver returns you to your hotel after the show, ending the 7-hour experience.
