What’s included

Your private transport covers all transfers between Kampala and Murchison Falls National Park. You’ll get guided game drives (morning and evening), a boat trip up to the base of Murchison Falls on the Nile, entrance fees to all attractions mentioned above, dinner and breakfast at your chosen lodge or camp (Heritage Safari Lodge, Red Chilli Rest Camp or UWA Campsite), plus free WiFi at most accommodations. Just bring your sense of adventure—and maybe some snacks for those long drives!

The road out of Kampala’s morning bustle felt endless at first—red dust swirling behind us as we passed roadside fruit stalls and boda bodas weaving through traffic. By the time we hit Masindi for lunch, I could already smell grilled chicken drifting from a tiny café near the bus stop. Our driver, Moses, knew every shortcut and had stories about each village we zipped past. When we finally reached Murchison Falls National Park, the air changed—hotter, with a hint of wild grass and something earthy I couldn’t quite place.

The boat cruise on the Nile was nothing like I’d pictured. Hippos grunted just meters from our boat while a crocodile barely moved on a muddy bank. Elephants wandered down for a drink, their trunks swinging lazily. Our guide pointed out a flash of blue—the rare shoebill stork—standing so still it looked fake. The closer we got to the falls, the louder everything became: birds calling overhead, water smashing through that narrow gorge (it’s only about seven meters wide), and people on board gasping when spray hit their faces. That moment when you see the Nile explode into white water below is hard to forget.

Waking up early at the lodge meant coffee before sunrise and a quick bite—nothing fancy but enough to get you going. The game drive was all about patience; sometimes you’d spot giraffes munching quietly or buffaloes blocking the track, other times it was just silence broken by distant jackals yipping. We followed Queen’s Track and Albert Track—our guide said those are best for lions and leopards if you’re lucky (we saw one lioness lounging under an acacia). Afterward, standing at the top of Murchison Falls itself felt unreal—the river squeezes through this impossibly tight gap before dropping into mist and noise below. On the way back to Kampala, my shoes were dusty and my camera full.
