The experience

The day starts with a scenic boat ride to North Caicos, where you explore Wade's Green Plantation in the settlement of Kew: one of the Caribbean's best-preserved examples of a Loyalist plantation. From there, you visit Cottage Pond, a tidal blue hole formed through karst geology and connected to the ocean through the porous limestone beneath the islands. The drive to Middle Caicos includes a stop at a local bar for the regional beer 'I Soon Reach' and folk tales from the owner, Big Josh, before you cross the causeway.

Middle Caicos holds the largest above-ground cave system in the Bahamas-Turks and Caicos archipelago, located near Conch Bar. The caves carry markings and etchings left by guano miners in the 1880s, along with Lucayan artifacts discovered during that era. You then reach Mudjin Harbour, where the afternoon break (1:00pm–3:00pm) gives you time to swim and relax on the beach. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you want to use the water. The tour also takes in Dragon Cay, the caves' viewpoint, and Bambarra Beach, described as arguably the most beautiful beach in Turks and Caicos, with views of the turquoise shallows where West Indian Flamingos gather in flocks that sometimes number in the thousands.

Private transportation is included throughout the day. A live guide in English leads the tour and provides context at each stop. Lunch is not included, so plan accordingly or bring your own.
