The Experience

The afternoon starts at the beach hut near your hotel, where you board the boat and head straight to the reef. Once you're in the water with the snorkeling equipment provided, you'll see the sea life around you—and when you've had enough of that, there's a slide and diving platform built into the boat. You jump or slide into the turquoise water as many times as you want. The boat then motors to Iguana Island, an uninhabited cay except for the rock iguanas that live there. These reptiles are accustomed to visitors and will pose for photos. You walk the short trail across the island to see both the North Atlantic side and the Caribbean side, then cruise back along Grace Bay Beach before the boat drops you off there.

Lunch arrives on the water: gourmet sandwiches, fresh-cut fruit, light snacks, and a full cooler with island rum punch, local beer, sodas and water. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange your own transport. Bring a towel, hat, reef-safe sunscreen and a camera; the operator provides the rest.

Yes. The diving platform and slide are built into the boat, and you can use them repeatedly during the snorkeling portion of the afternoon before the boat moves on to Iguana Island.
