The Experience

You arrive in Izmir and your guide meets you at the airport. From there, the four days unfold as a route through the ancient cities where John wrote his letters to the churches. Day one takes you to Smyrna, where the 2nd-century Bishop Polycarp was burned alive, and then to Pergamon, called in Revelation the place "where Satan's seat is"—a reference to the altar of Zeus that still stands there. You stay overnight in a hotel you selected before booking.

Day two moves inland to Thyatira, Sardis and Philadelphia. Each stop carries the specific message Jesus sent to that church: Thyatira tolerated false prophets; Sardis was spiritually dead despite its reputation; Philadelphia remained faithful. Your guide brings the connection between the ancient ruins and the text alive, not as a lecture but as conversation—you ask questions, linger where something resonates, move on when you're ready. Day three is split between Pamukkale and Laodicea. The final day is Ephesus, the most important of the seven churches, where you see the House of the Virgin Mary and the Basilica of St. John. After the tour, your guide can transfer you back to Izmir airport. All meals are included throughout, as are the entrance fees to each site and the private transport between them.
