The Experience

You're driven up Babadag Mountain in an air-conditioned vehicle, climbing past scrub and stone until the Turkish Riviera spreads below you—Oludeniz's lagoon impossibly blue, the Butterfly Valley a fold of green shadow. The runway sits at 6,450 feet. Your pilot runs through the harness, the equipment, the motion you'll make together when you run off the edge. It takes maybe two minutes to explain. Then you're standing at the lip of the mountain, and the wind is real.

Paragliding from Babadag gives you three ways to fly. A Standard Flight is the one most people choose—you and your pilot rise on thermals, watching the coast rotate beneath you, the sound of the valley so far down it becomes silence. A Long Flight pushes higher, chasing clouds, spending more time in the air where everything below turns abstract. Or you go for the aerobatic option if you want the adrenaline: rolls, spirals, the kind of movement that makes your stomach flip and your hands grip tighter. The pilots here have been flying for years and know how to read a nervous flyer—they talk you through what's happening, point out landmarks, take photos so you have proof of what you just did.

The team operates out of Fethiye and handles the logistics: pickup from your hotel or office, the transfer up the mountain, all the gear, passenger insurance. You pay a runway usage fee of $40 per person when you arrive, and if you're over the weight range (90–110 kg for women, 100–120 kg for men), there's an extra $30 charge at the office. Parking is included. The flight itself lasts as long as the conditions allow—sometimes thirty minutes, sometimes longer if the thermals are strong. When you land on the beach at Oludeniz, your legs might shake a little. Most people book again before they leave.
