The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Alanya hotel and heads into the foothills of the Taurus Mountains by 4x4 jeep. The route follows mountain tracks that a regular car cannot reach, climbing into terrain where the landscape opens up and the coast falls away behind you. Your guide drives and narrates the route in English, pointing out the geography and the villages built into the slopes.

Sapadere Canyon is the main stop on the way up. The canyon cuts through limestone and the walls rise steeply. You walk down into it and see the river running through the floor. The track then continues higher into the mountains before turning back toward the coast and the Dimcay River, where lunch is served.
