The experience

If your first days in Alanya have been beach-bound, this tour takes you inland where the mountains rise and the settlements thin out. A jeep picks you up from your hotel and climbs into the Taurus range, following an off-road route that opens onto panoramic views of the sea and the peaks behind it. The drive itself is the point: the landscape shifts from coastal scrub to mountain pasture, and the road narrows as you climb.

Dim Cave, the largest karst cave in Europe, sits at the heart of the day. Around it spreads a reservoir where you'll stop for lunch and a swim: the cave entrance and the water are the main events here, and the guide will walk you through what you're looking at. Before the cave, you visit 3–4 villages scattered across the slopes, places where you can see how people live in this region and what the culture looks like away from the resort strip. The villages are the stops. The guide explains what you're seeing.

The full day runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off. You'll need to be comfortable bouncing around in a jeep on unpaved mountain roads, and the cave entrance fee (100 Turkish lira per person) is separate from the tour price. Lunch is included, as is the guide, the vehicle, insurance and your transport back to the hotel.

What’s included

  • Round-trip hotel pickup and transfer.
  • a live guide in English or Russian.
  • full insurance.
  • lunch at the reservoir.
  • swimming time at Dim Cave.
