Step-by-step itinerary
Visit Sidi Bou Said, Carthage, and Tunis
- Explore Sidi Bou Said cliff and views
- Visit ruins and palace in Carthage
- Tour the Medina of Tunis
The experience
If you have a free afternoon in Hammamet and want to see the main sites around Tunis without arranging your own transport, this tour bundles three distinct places into a single departure. The driver picks you up from your hotel and handles the driving. A guide in your choice of English, French or Arabic leads you through each stop. The route moves north to Sidi Bousaid first: a steep clifftop city where flowers and vines cover nearly every wall, overlooking the Mediterranean. From there you head to Carthage, where you walk among the ruins of the ancient city and see the panoramic view from the presidential palace grounds.
Tunis comes last, and the guide takes you through the medina, the old market quarter that grew from a small Berber settlement in the 12th century into a thriving port. The medina is where the city's traditional character survives: narrow streets, merchant stalls, the layered history of centuries. The whole day runs six to seven hours, so you're back with time before dinner. The vehicle is air-conditioned and parking is covered. You'll need to buy separate tickets to enter the historical sites themselves.
What’s included
