The experience
The boat leaves Pak Bara Pier and heads straight to Jabang Channel, the most famous snorkeling point around Ko Lipe: colorful soft corals and schools of tropical fish in crystal-clear water. From there you move through the rest of the day as a small group: the snorkeling site behind Hin Ngam Island with its rich coral garden, then Hin Ngam itself, a volcanic stone beach where you can walk and photograph. The captain stops at Koh Yang next, a small island surrounded by healthy coral reefs and calm water, then Koh Rawi, one of the largest in Tarutao National Park with long white sand and more snorkeling. The last stop is Koh Adang, north of Ko Lipe, with lush jungle backing turquoise water and vibrant coral.
You get a snorkeling mask, fins and life jacket. The guide speaks English and handles the boat. Drinking water and fresh seasonal fruit come with you. The captain takes underwater photos throughout the day at no extra cost. Those are yours to keep. Accident insurance is included. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, email the operator after booking and they'll arrange it.
Six hours is long enough to move between five or six stops without rushing, but short enough to leave your afternoon or evening free. The shared boat means you're not paying for a private charter, and the local guide knows where the fish are and how to time the stops so you're snorkeling in the best light.
