Scuba diving at Racha Islands from Phuket includes 3 dives over 8 hours with professional instructors, hotel pickup, breakfast, lunch and all equipment. The east coast dive sites feature a gentle drift along rocky slopes covered in hard corals and nutrient-rich water that draws large schools of tropical fish. The north bays offer clear water and gradual drops to 20–25 metres onto sand. Children from age 7 are welcome, and guides speak English, Spanish, French, German and one additional language.

The experience

The boat leaves Chalong Pier after pickup from your hotel at 7:15am. Breakfast is served on board, and your instructor briefs you on equipment, the dive sites, what to expect at each location and all safety matters before the first descent. You carry all your own gear (the operator provides SCUBA equipment, weights and a wetsuit), and the guide leads you through the water.

Three dives happen across the day, each one different. The north end holds Homerun Bay and Siam Bay, where the seabed drops gradually to 20–25 metres and the water stays clear and deep. The corals are colorful and the slope is gentle enough for snorkeling too. The east coast, Bays 1 to 5, is where the current allows a drift dive along a rocky face covered in hard corals. The nutrient-rich water draws large schools of tropical fish, and leopard sharks, blacktip reef sharks and rays have been spotted in the area.

Snacks and soft drinks come throughout the day. Lunch is served on board with vegetarian options available if you request them when you board. The boat returns to Chalong Pier in the afternoon, and you're dropped back at your hotel. The whole day runs 8 hours from pickup to return.
