You arrive at the licensed airfield just outside Phuket town and meet your instructor pilot. A licensed professional who handles the flight while you sit back and take in the view. The whole experience runs about 25 minutes from arrival to landing, so a free afternoon or a gap between other plans is enough. No training happens. You simply show up, get briefed on what to expect, and climb into the harness.
The flight itself lasts around 15 minutes at 1000 meters, high enough to see the shape of the island and the water below it clearly. Phi Phi island, Chalong bay, Promthep Cape and Big Buddha all come into view as you drift over them: each one looks different from the air than it does from a boat or a beach. The paramotor moves slowly enough that you can actually look around instead of holding on for your life, and a GoPro camera records the whole thing so you have footage to keep.
