The experience

You start with a safety briefing to build confidence before entering the water. The dive sites are handpicked and sit within Tarutao National Marine Park, where the underwater habitats stay pristine because the area is protected. A guide leads you through coral gardens filled with colorful reefs and marine life: sea turtles, tropical fish and schools that move together through the water. Whether you pick one dive or two, you're in the water with equipment provided and a live guide speaking English or Thai.

The boat ride out uses a speedboat and long-tail vessel, both fast enough to reach the sites quickly. After your dive or dives, you return to shore and eat lunch. The whole activity takes five hours. Drinking water and diving insurance are included, and you don't need a certificate to join: beginners are the point of this experience. One thing to know: you're asked not to fly for 18 hours after diving, and you'll complete a medical questionnaire before the activity starts.
