The experience

The day starts with a scenic flight that climbs to 4,000 meters over the Swiss Alps. From the aircraft you see Interlaken's two lakes and the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau before the door opens and you step out into freefall. The 45-second rush at 200kph (120mph) is the heart of it: pure adrenaline with an experienced tandem master strapped to you the whole time. Then the parachute opens and the noise stops. The final 5 minutes under canopy bring you down slowly enough to take in the view and catch your breath before landing.

Pickup and drop-off happen from designated locations in the area, and you don't need to bring or arrange any gear: the operator supplies everything, including the parachute and harness. The tandem master handles the technical side. Your job is to show up, listen to the safety briefing, and hold on. The whole outing runs about 3.5 hours from start to finish.
