The experience
Can you ride a jet ski without a license in St. Maarten? Yes, the guide handles navigation, so you just control the throttle and steer. The tour leaves Simpson Bay, crosses under the causeway bridges, then exits through the French bridge at Sandy Ground into open water. From there you run the coastline past Nettle Bay, Red Bay, Plum Bay, Long Bay, and Mullet Bay, with views of Maho airport where planes land close enough to photograph. The route takes roughly an hour, with built-in stops to rest, swim in the Caribbean, or shoot photos without the engine running.
Each jet ski seats one or two riders at the same price, so you choose whether to go solo or bring a passenger. Groups stay small: a maximum of four jet skis leave together, which means eight people total if every machine carries two. The guide stays with the group throughout, and you'll have time in the water to cool off and take in the bays up close. Guides are fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French, and children as young as seven can ride.
