The experience

You arrive at Simpson Bay and board your jet ski: either piloting solo or sharing one with a travel companion at the same price. The guide briefs the group on handling and safety, then leads up to four jet skis (eight riders total if machines are shared) out along the water. The route hugs the south coast, passing the white sand of La Samanna beach and the runway of Maho Airport, where planes descend low enough to feel close. Ocean swells and wind decide whether you head out to Mullet Bay and back, or turn into the lagoon toward Porto Cupecoy instead.

Thirty minutes is short enough to fit a free afternoon or a gap between other plans, but long enough to feel the speed and see the shape of the island from the water. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian or French, so the commentary reaches whoever is on the water. You need at least a moderate level of fitness for the ride itself (jet skis demand balance and core strength), and you must be 17 or older.
