The Experience
The day starts at Rodney Bay marina, where you board a boat and cruise south along the coast. You'll pass Pigeon Island at the start, then the fishing villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries — working communities where you can see how people live on the water. The boat keeps moving toward Soufriere, and as you approach, the Gros Piton rises ahead, the landmark that defines this stretch of coast. The cruise itself is the first half of the day, and the water and the shoreline are what carry you through it.
Once you dock in Soufriere, you head to Morne Coubaril Estate, a working plantation where you tour the rum and chocolate production, then taste both. Lunch is a local buffet served on the estate. After you eat, the boat takes you back north, but not straight — you stop at a beach on the west coast for a swim and snorkel. Marigot Bay comes next, where the guide shares the history of the bay and you get time to photograph it before the final run back to Rodney Bay. The whole day runs about eight and a half hours from start to finish.
Pickup is arranged from your hotel, and the boat has a restroom on board. Rum punch and beer are included, along with all fees and taxes — nothing extra to sort out once you're there.

Is this one for you?The boat runs the full eight and a half hours, so this suits someone with a full free day and comfort on the water — not a quick afternoon outing. The swimming and snorkeling stop breaks up the cruising, and the estate visit and lunch give you solid time off the boat, so it's not all motion.

What are the Pitons and why do people want to see them?
The Gros Piton and Petit Piton are two volcanic peaks that rise straight out of the sea near Soufriere and are the most recognizable landmarks on St. Lucia's coast. You'll cruise past them on the way to Soufriere, and they're the backdrop for some of the best photo stops on the tour.
What exactly happens at Morne Coubaril Estate?
Morne Coubaril Estate is a working plantation where you tour how rum and chocolate are made on-site, then taste both products. A local buffet lunch is served there, so you eat on the estate grounds after the tasting.
Is there time to swim, or is this mostly a boat ride?
Yes — the tour includes a dedicated swim and snorkel stop on the west coast on the return journey, so you get in the water as part of the day, not just look at it from the boat.
Do I need to arrange my own way to the boat, or is pickup included?
Pickup from your hotel is included, so you don't need to arrange transport to Rodney Bay marina — the operator handles that part.
Is this tour safe for kids, or is it better for adults?
Infants and small children can come — they can ride in a pram or stroller. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for people with poor cardiovascular health because of the boat time and the walking on the estate.
