The experience
You get picked up and driven through the island's main points of interest in a private vehicle with your own guide: no shared stops or group waits. The route starts in Basseterre with the National Museum, Berkeley Memorial, Independence Square and the old historical churches, then moves to The Egrets Birds Nest and Bloody Point before heading to Wingfield Plantation and the Botanical Gardens at Romney Manor, where Caribelle Batik operates. This is where the pace slows enough to walk the gardens if you want to.
Black Rocks is the physical centerpiece: volcanic lava that erupted over 400 years ago cooled in the ocean and formed the rock formations you see along the coastline. From there, the route climbs to Timothy Hill at the beginning of the Southern Peninsula, where the view opens to show both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea adjacent to each other. The guide points out the geography. The moment is yours to absorb. You return to Port Zante when the tour ends.
The whole route runs three to four hours. All fees, taxes and transport are included in the price. Alcoholic drinks are available to purchase if you want them. Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated if a companion can assist with boarding and getting out of the vehicle.
