The experience
The kayak leaves from Cala Les Platgetes in Moraira and heads toward Punta de Moraira, also called Cap d'Or, then follows the coast to Cala Llebeig, a wild cove where you beach the kayak, snorkel among posidonia meadows and rest. The water here is clear enough to spot seabirds and, if you're lucky, passing cetaceans. After a break you paddle on to the Moraig Fault, an almost vertical rock wall nearly 70 meters high, and enter a sea cave through a cavity in the rock. This is where the second snorkel happens: inside the cave, in water so transparent you can see straight down the cliff face.
The double kayak has a backrest, self-empties if water gets in, and comes with a paddle, a personal flotation vest and snorkeling equipment (mask and tube). A watertight pot keeps your phone, keys and wallet dry. Your guide handles safety and navigation. You operate the kayak and decide how long to spend snorkeling at each stop. If conditions and the group agree, the route can extend to Baladrar cove, a smaller natural inlet further along the coast. The whole paddle covers one of the most dramatic stretches of the Marina Alta, with the Rock of Ifach visible as a landmark throughout the day.
You need to bring water to drink, a light snack, a cap and sunglasses, a synthetic t-shirt, sun cream and water shoes with foot support, no flip-flops. The operator provides photos of the activity. Public transport stops are nearby if you're not driving to Moraira. The minimum age is 17, and a high level of physical fitness is required. The activity is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Moraig Fault sea cave like when you paddle inside it?
The Moraig Fault is a nearly vertical rock wall about 70 meters high with a cavity you paddle through to enter a sea cave. Once inside, the water is exceptionally clear, letting you see the full depth and the rock face dropping away underwater: ideal for snorkeling in a space most people never reach by land.
Do I need snorkeling experience to join this activity?
No prior experience is required. The guide leads you to two snorkeling spots (Cala Llebeig and inside the sea cave), and you control how long you spend in the water at each one. The gear is provided, and the guide ensures the activity stays safe for the group.
How does the double kayak work, and can I paddle it alone?
The double kayak seats two people and has a self-emptying design, a backrest for comfort and a paddle for each seat. You and another participant paddle together, or if you're traveling as a pair, you both operate the boat. The guide leads the group but does not paddle your kayak.
What happens if the weather or sea conditions change during the activity?
The route can be adjusted based on conditions and what the group wants to do. If conditions allow and everyone agrees, the paddle can extend to Baladrar cove. The guide decides what is safe on the day and communicates any changes before you start.
Is food or water provided, or do I bring my own?
You bring your own water and a light snack. The activity does not include food or drink, so pack enough to stay hydrated and fueled for the 3.5 to 4 hours on the water. A watertight pot keeps your belongings dry while you paddle and snorkel.
