Fluid Art Painting Workshop in Mallorca: Create & Take Home
You watch colours merge and flow across the canvas while you direct them, not the other way around.
A fluid art painting class in Mallorca where you learn three core techniques—pouring, dripping and swiping—and create three small canvases or one large one to take home. The workshop runs four hours and includes a welcome drink, refreshments, all materials and a tour of the artist's 300-square-meter art project before you begin. No prior experience is required; the instructor guides you through the fundamentals and then steps back while you work.
The Experience
The session opens with a welcome drink and a walk through Peter Pansch's art project, a 300-square-meter installation that sets the tone for what you are about to make. Then comes a ten-minute introduction to the three techniques—pouring, dripping and swiping—which is all the instruction you need. The colours, canvases and setup are provided; you bring only your willingness to let the paint move without controlling every stroke.
Once you start, the workshop becomes your time. You work on three small canvases or one large one, depending on what you choose. The paint flows and merges in ways you cannot fully predict, and that unpredictability is the point. Everyone leaves with finished pieces, even if you have never held a brush before. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and one additional language, so the instruction is clear regardless of your background.
Your paintings need roughly three days to dry completely. You can carry them out on newspaper and let them cure in your car or hotel room. The studio provides water, coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks throughout the four hours, so you stay comfortable while you work.

What exactly is fluid art and why does it work without any painting experience?
Fluid art uses gravity, pouring and layering of liquid paint to create abstract compositions. You guide the flow by tilting the canvas or using tools like squeeze bottles and combs, but the paint itself does much of the work. The technique produces striking results from the start because the medium is forgiving—colour blending and movement happen naturally, so beginners and experienced artists both walk away with gallery-quality pieces.
How long does the four-hour workshop actually take, and what happens in each part?
The four hours break down as: welcome drink and tour of the art project (roughly thirty minutes), ten-minute instruction on the three techniques, then the rest of the time is yours to create on your canvases. The guide stays available to answer questions, but once you begin painting, you work at your own pace.
Can I really take my paintings home the same day, or do they need to stay at the studio?
You take them with you immediately on newspaper, but they need approximately three days to dry fully. You can lay them flat in your car, carry them to your hotel, or prop them somewhere at your accommodation. The studio does not store finished work, so plan to transport them yourself.
What is included in the workshop, and what do I need to bring?
The studio provides all colours, canvases (you choose three small or one large), brushes, tools and materials. Refreshments include a welcome drink, water, coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks. You only need to bring yourself and wear clothes you do not mind getting paint on.
Is this workshop suitable for children or people with no art background at all?
Yes to both. Fluid art requires no prior experience or special fitness level, and the technique works for anyone willing to experiment. Infants must sit on an adult's lap. The instructor meets you where you are and the medium itself makes success easy—even your first attempt will look intentional and polished.
