Max 8 people, 1 day.★ 4.98 (102)4h€ 44View › I’ll be honest, I almost bailed on this Mallorca beach scuba dive because I kept picturing myself flailing around like a confused octopus. But our instructor, Marta, had this calm way of explaining things — not too much info, just enough so you don’t freak out about the gear or the signals. She even joked that everyone looks awkward at first. Standing there on the sand with my wetsuit half-zipped and salt in the air, I felt both ridiculous and kind of excited.
The water was cooler than I expected, but after a couple breaths through the regulator (that plasticky taste — weirdly comforting?), it started to feel possible. Marta stuck close, nodding encouragement every time I remembered to equalize my ears. There was this moment when a tiny silver fish darted right past my mask and honestly, I forgot about everything else. The world above got muffled — just bubbles and sunlight flickering through blue.
We didn’t go deep — maybe three meters max — but it was enough to make me realize how different things look from down there. And it’s slow. You notice stuff: pebbles under your hands, how your own breath sounds huge inside your head. Marta snapped a photo at one point (I’m probably squinting), which made me laugh underwater and nearly lose my mouthpiece. So yeah, if you’re worried about being a total beginner on a day trip in Mallorca, you’re not alone.
Afterwards, peeling off the wetsuit felt like waking up from a dream where gravity works differently. I still think about that feeling — weightless and quiet for those 15 minutes. Would do it again just for that silence.
