The experience
The boat leaves Roses and sails along the coast through Cap de Creus Natural Park, where you'll pass the Tamariu Cave and El Gato rock formation on a 45-minute guided tour. The cliffs here are the ones Dalí drew and painted. The water below is the view he saw from Port Lligat, where his studio still sits on the beach. Once the boat reaches Cadaqués center, the guide work stops and your time begins.
Six to seven hours is enough to do Cadaqués without rushing. The village has no cars in its core, so you walk the cobbled streets and find restaurants, cafés and small shops tucked into the lanes. The beaches are small and rocky. Most visitors swim for an hour or so and then explore the town. If you arrive on a Monday, the weekly market fills the main square. The boat drops you at the ideal point to reach Port Lligat and Dalí's villa on foot if you want to, though entry to the villa itself is separate and not included.
The tour runs eight hours total. You'll have a multilingual audio guide in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Dutch, Russian and Catalan. A bar and restroom are on board, and the crew takes photographs during the sail. The boat is wheelchair accessible, though the village itself has steep, narrow streets. You can depart from either Roses Centro or Santa Margarita, depending on which works for your schedule.
What’s included
