The Experience

You board either the catamaran Don Jaume or the fast cruiser Carpe Diem and sail into the waters where dolphins live along Mallorca's southwest coast. The boat is modern and built for comfort, which matters on the water. An expert local crew navigates toward the areas with the highest probability of spotting cetaceans, and you follow the action on a multilingual audio guide system accessible through your smartphone with your own headphones — you control when you listen and what language you hear.

The excursion runs either 1 hour 45 minutes without a swimming stop, or 2 to 2.5 hours with one included, depending on which departure you choose. If you pick the version with swimming, you'll drop anchor in crystal-clear water after the sighting and have time to get in. Masks and snorkels are available to purchase on board or available with a €10 refundable deposit if you want to look below the surface. Food and drinks are also available to buy on board.

You'll need to make your own way to one of the three departure ports — public transportation options are nearby. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, and infants sit on an adult's lap during the sail. The experience is officially licensed for cetacean observation, which means the operation follows strict protocols for respectful wildlife watching.
