Breathe underwater for the first time on Menorca's protected seabed

A diving baptism in Menorca's Northern Marine Reserve is a 2.5-hour introduction to SCUBA where you descend the north coast's underwater landscape with a live guide, full equipment provided, and instruction in buoyancy and underwater communication before you enter the water. The dive sites are only reachable by boat and sit in a protected zone where the operator prioritizes conservation. You'll learn techniques that protect the fragile seabed as part of the experience. Children from age 10 are welcome. Guides speak English, Spanish or French.

The experience

The Northern Marine Reserve protects some of Menorca's most fragile underwater terrain, and the operator builds that protection into every dive. Before entering the water, an instructor walks you through the equipment, the basic rules of diving, underwater hand signals, and a few small exercises in shallow water so you're comfortable with the gear and the breathing. The focus throughout is on buoyancy control. The skill that keeps you hovering above the seabed rather than touching it, which matters here because much of what you'll see is extremely delicate.

The boat takes you to dive points on the north coast that are only accessible from the water. You descend with your guide, who watches your technique and your air consumption. The whole experience runs about 2.5 hours from start to finish. After you surface, you'll need to wait 12 hours before flying, so plan the rest of your day around that window.

All SCUBA equipment is included: tank, wetsuit, weights, the full setup. Guides are live and speak English, Spanish or French, so you can choose the language that works for you. The activity is suitable for all fitness levels, and children from age 10 can participate. Pregnant travelers and anyone with cardiovascular concerns should sit this one out. Don't drink alcohol or take other substances before diving, and bring a valid ID.

Is this one for you?Choose the English, Spanish or French guide option that matches your language comfort, since the instruction happens before you enter the water and clear communication matters for safety. Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in English, Spanish and French.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (15 to 17 years); Child (10 to 14 years). Under 10: they can't be included in the booking.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What happens during the instruction part before we go underwater?

An instructor briefs you on the diving equipment, explains the basic rules and underwater hand signals, and runs through some small exercises with you in the water before the actual dive. This gets you comfortable with breathing through the regulator and moving in the gear.

Are the dive sites hard to reach, or can we get there easily?

The dive points on Menorca's north coast are only accessible by boat, so you travel by water to reach them. That's why the operator runs the dives this way rather than from a shore entry.

What's included in the price, and what do I need to bring?

All SCUBA equipment is included: tank, wetsuit, weights, mask, fins and regulator. Bring a valid ID and wear something you don't mind getting wet. Don't eat a heavy meal right before diving.

Why does the operator emphasize buoyancy control so much?

The Northern Marine Reserve's seabed is extremely fragile in many places. Buoyancy control keeps you floating above it rather than accidentally touching or dragging equipment across it, which protects the environment and is part of the operator's conservation approach.

How long do I have to wait after diving before I can fly?

You must wait 12 hours after surfacing before flying. Plan your departure or onward travel accordingly if you're diving on the day you leave Menorca.
