The Experience

Eight hours total, but most of that is the journey from Barcelona and the pace on the water. After the private coach picks you up and drives to S'Agaró, you'll leave your belongings in secure storage and collect your kayak from San Pol beach. The actual paddling and snorkeling runs 2.5–3 hours with a certified guide navigating you through the coves, small caves and sea life along the Costa Brava's turquoise waters. All kayaking and snorkeling gear comes with you — life jackets, optional wetsuits for cooler months, fins and everything else — so there's no renting or sorting out equipment on arrival.

The route stays just below the Camino de Ronda, a famous coastal walking path that traces the cliffs above. You'll paddle into spots that are only reachable by water, then have free time to explore the coastline on your own, swim, snorkel deeper or simply float and relax. If you want to cliff jump, that's an option too. A beach bar nearby serves cocktails if you'd rather sit out part of the afternoon. Your guide captures photos and video on a GoPro throughout the day so you can focus on the water instead of the camera.

Lunch is a fresh sandwich — turkey, chorizo, tuna or cheese — served after the activity ends. Drinks aren't included with lunch, but you can buy them at the beach bar. The coach returns you to Barcelona in the afternoon, and you'll have time to change at the beach toilets before departure. Civil liability and accident insurance covers the whole day, and a safety boat stays with the group. Come in your swim wear under your clothes to save time changing at the small beach facilities.
