Jumilla Wine Tasting at Bodegas Silvano García: Learn & Taste
Inside a working winery, taste how Jumilla wines are made
A wine tasting class at Bodegas Silvano García in Alicante where you learn the history of Jumilla and its wines, walk through the old winery and aroma room, then taste four or six wines paired with regional cheese and sausage. The guide speaks English, Spanish or French, and the whole experience runs about an hour and a half. Children from age 3 are welcome; non-alcoholic beverages are available for anyone under 18.
The Experience
The experience starts with a welcome vermouth, then moves into the old winery itself—the physical space where the wines are made and aged. A live guide walks you through the aroma room and the raising room, explaining how Jumilla wines develop their character. This is not a lecture from a tasting room bar; you are standing inside the place where the work happens, and the guide narrates it as you move through.
After the walk comes the tasting: you choose between four wines or six wines, each one poured and explained. A small board of local cheese and sausage arrives alongside, so the flavors build on each other instead of hitting your palate alone. The whole session runs roughly an hour and a half. The guide is live—English, Spanish or French depending on what you book—so questions land in real time, not in a pre-recorded loop.
Children from age 3 can attend. If anyone in your group is under 18, the winery serves non-alcoholic beverages so they taste the experience without the wine. Service animals are welcome. The tasting is designed for all fitness levels, so there is no climbing or standing for hours on end.
