The experience

Two hours is all you need to go from touching rice powder for the first time to holding six finished cakes you made yourself. Your instructor, Jihyun, is a native Korean food lover certified in traditional tteok crafting who designed this class around 100% plant-based ingredients, so vegans, vegetarians and anyone curious about Korean food can work side by side without dietary limits. You'll learn steaming basics and tool handling, then mix the powders, choose your molds and design each cake in a different pastel shade.

While the cakes steam, you'll sip seasonal Korean tea and hear the stories behind rice-cake culture, from harvest festivals to the modern cafés where tteok has become trendy again. The class sits just ten minutes from Gimpo Airport, so it works as a layover escape or a morning before you head elsewhere in Seoul. After steaming, you'll pose with your creations at the "rainbow zone" photo corner (that's where the custom photocard gets taken), then box everything up with a printed PDF recipe so you can remake them at home or share them as gifts.
