Jeju island van tour: Private guide, Korean Drama sites
Build your own route through Jeju with a guide who knows every corner
A private van tour of Jeju island departing from Seogwipo, where you and your guide design the itinerary together. The tour includes pickup, a driver-guide fluent in English or Korean, and access to Seongsan Ilchulbong (a UNESCO natural heritage site formed 5,000 years ago), a K-Drama filming location at Seopjikoji cliff, a working folk village where residents volunteer as guides, and either Manjanggul Lava Tube or Hamdeok Beach depending on current closures. The defining trait is flexibility: you choose the stops and the pace instead of following a fixed schedule.

The experience
You start with pickup at your Seogwipo meeting point, then work with your guide to shape the day. The itinerary is not locked in: private groups build their own route based on what interests you, whether that's Korean Drama filming spots, geological sites, or the everyday life of Jeju locals. Your guide speaks English or Korean and knows the island deeply enough to steer you toward what matters most to you.
The route typically moves through several named stops. Seongsan Ilchulbong is a 180-meter peak that erupted underwater roughly 5,000 years ago, making it a rare geological formation. It's a UNESCO natural heritage site and often includes a women diver's performance at the end of the trail. Seopjikoji cliff runs along a K-Drama filming location with views across the coast. The folk village preserves how old Jeju residents lived and still functions as a living community: residents volunteer as guides and can point out the Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry trees at the center. Manjanggul Lava Tube, formed thousands of years ago and exceptionally well preserved, is typically included, though it is closed through December 31, 2025. During that closure, Hamdeok Seoubong Beach replaces it: a shallow-water spot over 500 meters wide that can hold 50,000 visitors a day. If your hotel is in Seogwipo city, Saryeoni Forest Path, a wooden boardwalk through forest, is an optional bonus stop.
The van is family-sized and private to your group. Fuel is included. You pay separately for any park admissions and meals. The full tour runs nine hours from pickup to drop-off, which leaves room for a lunch stop you arrange, though the guide can suggest places. Infants travel on an adult's lap.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Korean.
What is Seongsan Ilchulbong and why is it worth the stop?
Seongsan Ilchulbong is a 180-meter peak that formed when it erupted underwater about 5,000 years ago, making it one of the rarest crater formations in Jejudo Island. It's a UNESCO natural heritage site, and the trail often ends with a women diver's performance.
Can I really design my own itinerary, or is the route set?
Private groups design the itinerary with the guide instead of following a fixed schedule. You choose which stops matter to you and how long to spend at each one, so the day is built around your interests.
What happens if I want to see Korean Drama filming locations?
Seopjikoji cliff is a K-Drama filming venue along the coast with scenic views. Your guide can include it in your route or suggest other drama-related spots based on which shows you've watched.
Is Manjanggul Lava Tube included in every tour?
Manjanggul Lava Tube is closed through December 31, 2025. During the closure, Hamdeok Seoubong Beach (a shallow, wave-free beach over 500 meters wide) replaces it in the itinerary.
Do I need to arrange my own lunch, or is it included?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. Your guide can recommend local restaurants and you stop to eat, but you pay for the meal separately.
