The experience
The boat departs Dream Yacht Marina and heads to Curieuse Island, where you step onto Baie Laraie beach and meet the giant Aldabra tortoises that roam the island freely: hundreds of them live here. A 1-hour hike then crosses the island through mangroves and over the hills, moving through the fauna and flora to reach Anse Jose, a white sand beach where you can rest and sunbathe. From there, you can visit the Doctor's House Museum, which documents the island's history and the old leprosy establishment that once operated here.
After Curieuse, the boat moves to St Pierre Island, a small granite islet with coconut palms scattered across it. The waters around St Pierre are known for reef snorkeling.
