Step-by-step itinerary
Curieuse Island and snorkeling trip
- Arrive at Curieuse Island by 9:30am
- Nature trail walk with guide for 45 minutes
- Relax on Curieuse white sandy beach
- Enjoy mixed barbecue at 12:30pm
- Snorkel at St Pierre Island at 2:00pm
- Snorkel and have soft drinks at Anse Lafarine
- End trip at 4:00pm
The experience
Six hours on the water means you cover three separate stops without rushing through any of them. The morning starts at Curieuse Island itself, where a licensed guide walks you through 45 minutes of nature trails on the actual island, not a boardwalk or a viewing platform, but the wild of it. After that stretch you have time to rest on the white sand beach before lunch arrives at 12:30pm: a creole barbecue cooked on-site. By 2pm the boat moves to St Pierre Island for the first snorkeling session in clear water with different species of fish, then to Anse Lafarine for a second round of snorkeling with soft drinks between them. The trip wraps at 4pm.
What you bring matters here: hiking shoes or sandals for the 45-minute trail, and a light backpack to carry them. The boat itself is not suitable for people with immobility problems, so that constraint is worth knowing upfront. Snorkeling gear is supplied, and the guide speaks English or French depending on your group. Pickup happens from three different areas on Praslin (Baie-Ste-Anne, Grand-Anse or Anse Volbert), so you choose the one closest to where you're staying.

Is this one for you?The full six hours means you spend real time at each stop (45 minutes hiking, beach rest, a sit-down lunch, and two separate snorkeling sessions) rather than moving between islands every few minutes. If your day is tightly packed with other activities, the morning departure and 4pm return leave the afternoon free. If you want to spend the whole day on the water, this fills it completely.
