The experience

Praslin, the second-largest island in Seychelles, is where your day starts. A driver meets you at the Praslin Jetty and takes you straight to the beaches that show up in more travel photographs than almost anywhere else on earth. Powder-white sand, clear water, and the chance to swim and snorkel without waiting for a group to finish means you set the pace. Stay in the water as long as you want, or move on when you're ready.

The tour includes time at a beach for swimming and snorkeling with equipment provided, then moves to Anse Source d'Argent, where you'll see giant Aldabra land tortoises and walk through a traditional copra factory. A coconut and vanilla plantation and the plantation house are also on the route. You can buy souvenirs or a Coco de Mer nut if you want one. Bottled water and snorkeling gear are included. Soda is available too.

Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, home to the world's largest nut, sits nearby. Entry is optional. You can visit the area outside the reserve for free, or pay the entry fee (approximately €32 per person, children enter free) and trek inside for about 90 minutes. Your guide speaks English and French, and the full day runs eight hours from pickup to return.
