Snorkeling St Anne Marine Park Seychelles: Coral Gardens
Feed tropical fish, then explore the coral gardens where they live
A full-day snorkeling tour from Mahe visits three islands in St Anne Marine Park: Moyenne Island, a flora and fauna reserve with roaming giant tortoises; Cerf Island, where you eat a creole buffet lunch; and the marine park itself, where you feed fish from the boat and snorkel among coral gardens and seagrass meadows. A live English or French-speaking guide leads the group through the park's underwater ecosystems.

The experience
The day starts with a boat departure from Mahe to Moyenne Island, the world's smallest national park. You'll walk among giant tortoises that roam freely, visit an old chapel in the forest, and take in viewpoints across the reserve. The island sits inside St Anne Marine Park, which protects some of the largest seagrass meadows in the granitic bank of Seychelles alongside coral gardens that concentrate an unusual variety of fish species in one area.
After Moyenne, the boat moves to the snorkeling sites within the marine park. You feed tropical fish from the boat first, then enter the water to get close to the creatures in the park's colorful coral gardens. The warm waters let you spot a large number of fish species as you move through the seagrass and reef. Cerf Island, a tiny island surrounded by an enchanting underwater world, is the last stop before lunch.
A traditional creole-style buffet lunch is served on Cerf Island, which was named after the French navy frigate Le Cerf. The seven-hour tour includes snorkeling equipment, all landing and facility fees, and water on board. You'll need to arrange your own transport to the departure point in Mahe. Public transportation options are available nearby.
