Evening Private Mahé Island Tour: Beaches & Sunset Dinner
Choose your beach stops and your restaurant: the evening shapes itself around what you want.
A private half-day tour of Mahé's south coast beaches ending with sunset, followed by dinner at a restaurant you select from a curated list. Your guide speaks English or French and picks you up from your hotel. The afternoon moves between four or five beaches (Anse Royale, Anse Forbans, Anse Intendance, Anse Takamaka and others along the southwestern coast) before the evening meal at a venue of your choice.

The experience
The tour runs four hours and centers on Mahé's southern and western beaches, each one different enough to matter. Anse Royale sits on the southeastern coast with calm water and a coral reef offshore, good for swimming and snorkeling. Anse Forbans, just along the coast, stays shallow and protected by reef, a setup that works for families. Anse Intendance stretches a mile across the southern shore with mountain views behind it. Anse Takamaka, on the southwest, pairs clear water with granite boulders and white sand. The tour also reaches Anse à la Mouche, Anse Louis, Grand Anse and Port Glaud, depending on what your guide arranges with you. You're not locked into a fixed sequence.
Sunset happens as the day mellows, and then the evening is yours to shape. You pick the restaurant from a list that includes Surfers Beach Restaurant, Kapatya, Del Place, Café Lazare at the Kempinski, Island Restaurant, Kafe Kreol, Windsong Beach, ZEZ at the Four Seasons, 5 Spices, and several venues at Mango House and Constance Ephelia Resort. Your guide confirms availability after you book and handles the logistics of getting you there. Food and drinks are your cost, not the tour's.
Bottled water comes with the tour. Your guide speaks English or French and picks you up from your hotel, so you don't arrange transport to the first beach.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and French.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between the beaches on this tour, are they all the same?
No. Anse Royale and Anse Forbans have offshore reefs that keep the water calm and shallow, making them safer for swimming and snorkeling. Anse Intendance is a long, open beach with mountain views. Anse Takamaka has granite boulders and very clear water. Anse à la Mouche and Grand Anse are wide bays with turquoise water and white sand. Your guide can spend more time at whichever type appeals to you.
Do I have to pick the restaurant before I book, or can I decide later?
You decide after booking. Once you confirm your reservation, your guide will contact you to confirm which restaurant you'd like and check availability. The list includes casual beachside spots like Surfers Beach and Windsong, and upscale options like ZEZ at the Four Seasons and the restaurants at Mango House and Constance Ephelia Resort.
Is dinner included in the tour price, or do I pay separately?
Dinner is not included. You pay for all food and drinks at the restaurant. The tour covers the beaches, the sunset, transport to the restaurant, and your guide's time.
What time does the tour start, and when does it end?
The tour runs four hours total. Your guide picks you up from your hotel at a time you arrange, spends the afternoon on the beaches, and has you at the restaurant in time for sunset and dinner. The exact start time depends on which restaurant you choose and when they can seat you.
Can I swim and snorkel, or is this just a driving tour?
You wade and swim at the beaches. Anse Royale and Anse Forbans have coral reefs and calm water suitable for snorkeling. The tour is built around time in the water, not just viewing from the car.
