The experience
You arrive at Jackton Distillery and meet your guide for a behind-the-scenes walk through a working family farm turned whisky producer. The tour moves through the spaces where RAER is actually made: the millroom where grain is prepared, the brewkit and fermentation vessels, the stillroom with its copper pot and column stills, and the sample laboratory where the spirits are tested. You get hands-on time in the millroom and work with the Chambord casks: the kind of detail that separates a walk-through from something you actually do.
The tasting happens in the Tasting Bar and covers four spirits: the Original RAER and three award-winning expressions aged in first-fill sherry casks. If whisky isn't your preference, the distillery also makes vodka and gins, and the guide can walk you through those instead. The whole experience runs 90 minutes, which means you're not rushed through the production spaces but you're not spending a half-day either.
