The tour leaves Glasgow in the morning and heads north through the Highlands, stopping first in Tyndrum for refreshments before pushing on to Glencoe itself. After Glencoe, the route swings toward Fort William, where lunch happens at a loch-side spot with views across the water and Ben Nevis—Britain's tallest mountain—sitting just outside town. The return journey takes you past Neptune's Staircase, a series of canal locks that are part of the Caledonian Canal—a 96-kilometer feat of Scottish engineering that lets boats cross from the west to the east side of Scotland. Then comes Loch Lomond, the "bonnie banks" part of the route, where you stop at Tarbet for a comfort break before heading back to Glasgow.
