Lost Map of Sibiu: Self-Guided Treasure Hunt Game
Hunt for a centuries-lost treasure by solving riddles at Sibiu's real landmarks
The Lost Map of Sibiu is a self-guided treasure hunt game played through the Questo app, where you solve riddles and word puzzles at six stops across the medieval town (from the Bridge of Lies to Piata Mare) to uncover both a fictional treasure and real stories from Sibiu's history. You set your own pace, take breaks whenever you want, and can pause and resume even on another day. The walk takes about 90 to 120 minutes with optional stops. A minimum age of 12 applies, and 24/7 customer support with built-in hints keeps you from getting stuck.

The experience
You start on Strada Faurului with the old city rising above you, then cross the Bridge of Lies and work your way up through the Lower Town toward the Upper Town, passing the Council Tower, Piata Mare, Huet Square, Casa Calfelor (the journeymen's house), the Passage of Stairs and the medieval towers of Citadel Park. At each stop, the map reveals a riddle or word puzzle tied to the details around you (a carved stone, an architectural feature, a street corner), and solving it unlocks a piece of Sibiu's real history or a local legend. The game blends fiction with fact so thoroughly that by the time you reach the final stop on Piata Mare, you've learned the town as well as you've played it.
The whole thing runs through the Questo app on your phone, so there's no guide walking beside you and no fixed schedule to follow. You book a ticket, download the game and start whenever you want: morning, afternoon, or split it across two days if you prefer. Pause for coffee on a medieval square, take a detour, come back later: the game waits. Built-in hints mean you won't stay stuck on a puzzle, and 24/7 customer support is there if something goes wrong. The walk itself is easy difficulty and works for solo players, couples, families with kids over 12, or groups doing a team-building challenge.

Can I play this game alone, or do I need to bring other people?
