Libearty Bear Sanctuary opens the day at feeding time, when the rescued bears naturally move closer to visitors. The sanctuary spans 69 hectares of oak forest where bears live after rescue, and some are eventually released back into the wild if they're ready. Morning is the only practical window: after breakfast the bears retreat into the woods to rest, and the sanctuary operates Tuesday through Sunday only. Children under five cannot enter.

Bran Castle comes next, the 13th-century hilltop fortress tied to Vlad the Impaler and the Dracula legend. A guided tour walks you through the majestic rooms and the history behind both names, steeped in mystery and myth. The castle draws visitors from around the world, and the tour includes entry.

The day ends at Poiana Brasov, Romania's largest and most luxurious mountain resort. You'll take a leisurely walk through the grounds: in winter it fills with skiers and ice-skaters, in summer with hikers and bikers on the mountain paths. A meal at a local restaurant or terrace can be arranged in advance if you want to sit down before the drive back to Brasov.
