The experience
Eight hours from Bucharest gets you into the Carpathians and back with time to spare. The day starts with a scenic drive from the city to the mountains, where you'll ride an ATV through forest trails and open terrain: beginners and experienced riders both operate the machine in a guided, safe setup. You control the pace and the route. The guide handles the navigation and the instruction. Helmets and rain or dirt suits come with the ATV, so you're covered for the conditions.
After the ride, you head to Sinaia, known as the Pearl of the Carpathians, to tour Peles Castle on foot. The castle was the summer residence of Romania's royal family and ranks among Europe's most ornate royal buildings. A guide walks you through the grounds and interiors at a panoramic pace: no rushing, no crowds if it's your private group. The whole experience stays private: only your party rides, only your party tours the castle.
The ATV itself seats two people, so if you're traveling solo or as a pair, one person rides while the other can sit out or swap turns. Groups of one to three travel by sedan from Bucharest. Groups of four to eight use a van. You'll need to bring your passport and a valid driving license to operate the machine. The ride fee of 80 euros (400 lei) goes to the local ATV supplier and is paid on the day, separate from the tour booking.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How long do I actually spend riding the ATV versus traveling and touring the castle?
You can choose to ride for 1 to 3 hours depending on your comfort level and experience. The remaining time covers the scenic drive to the Carpathians, the guide's instruction and setup, the drive to Sinaia, and the panoramic tour of Peles Castle.
What is Peles Castle like when you arrive to tour it?
Peles Castle is a royal residence built in the 19th century in the Carpathian foothills near Sinaia. The tour is guided and takes in the grounds and interiors at a panoramic pace, showing the architecture and history of the former summer home of Romania's royal family.
Can I ride the ATV if I've never done it before?
Yes. The activity is designed for both beginners and experienced riders. You receive instruction on how to use and operate the ATV before you start, and the guide leads the ride through the forest trails and mountain landscape at a pace suited to your skill level.
What do I need to bring to operate the ATV?
You must bring your passport and a valid driving license. The ATV operator requires both documents to confirm you're legally able to ride. Helmets, protective rain or dirt suits, and all safety gear are provided.
How does the group size affect the transport to and from Bucharest?
Groups of one to three people travel by sedan car. Groups of four to eight travel by van. Either way, private transportation from your Bucharest location is included, so you don't arrange separate transfers.
