The experience
The tour starts with a camel ride in the Sealine area, where you can also hold a falcon for a photo, then moves straight into dune bashing across the Qatari dunes in a 4x4 driven by an expert. You'll stop to try sandboarding on the dunes before heading to the Inland Sea, the natural border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where you swim and watch the sunset from the beach.
After sunset, the group drives deep into the desert, away from light pollution, to stargaze in the open sky. The entire route (from the initial camel ride through the dune runs and the Inland Sea to the final stargazing spot) is covered in an air-conditioned vehicle with your guide. Coffee and tea are provided throughout.
Pickup time depends on when the sun sets that day: during summer months you'll be collected at 5:30 pm, and in winter at 4:30 pm. The guide speaks English and will be with you for the full 4 to 5 hours.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 15 years). Children under 5 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Inland Sea and why do we stop there?
The Inland Sea is a natural saltwater lagoon and the official border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The tour includes a swim there at sunset, so you experience the water and the light together before moving into the desert for stargazing.
Do I need experience sandboarding to try it on this tour?
No experience is required. Sandboarding is included as a stop during the dune bashing section, and the guide will help you get started on the sand dunes.
What time does the tour pick me up?
Pickup time varies with the sunset. In summer (roughly May to September) pickup is at 5:30 pm. In winter (roughly October to April) it's at 4:30 pm. Your hotel or accommodation will be contacted with the exact time for your date.
Is the dune bashing rough, and will I get wet at the Inland Sea?
Dune bashing is an active off-road ride over large dunes, so it's bumpy and exciting. The Inland Sea swim is optional. You can wade in or stay on the beach. Bring a change of clothes or a swimsuit if you plan to swim.
