You start in a private air-conditioned 4x4, driven south from Doha into the open desert. The guide handles the dune bashing (the vehicle tackles steep sand faces while you sit inside), then stops at a traditional camel camp for a quick photo and a ride if you've selected that option. After a professional safety briefing on handling and speed, you take over a 250cc quad bike or dune buggy for 30 minutes and ride across the open dunes yourself, steering through the sand at your own pace.

The route continues to sandboarding on the high dunes before heading to the Inland Sea, a rare place where the desert floor drops to a lagoon that opens to the Arabian Gulf. The contrast, golden sand meeting water, is the payoff after hours of riding.
