The experience
What does it feel like to breathe underwater? The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program answers that without requiring certification first. You'll spend the morning learning fundamental skills (how to equalize pressure, control buoyancy, clear your mask) under the supervision of a PADI instructor before heading into open water. The two dives take you as deep as 12 metres (40 feet), depending on conditions at the site. Along the way you'll see marine turtles and other reef life up close.
The dive runs 5.5 hours total. Hotel pickup is included, and you must arrive at check-in by 7:30 am. If you miss the boat, no refund is issued. All equipment (wetsuit, tank, regulator, buoyancy control device) is provided. Snacks and beverages are included during the day. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with you throughout both dives.
You'll need to be able to swim and complete a health questionnaire before the dive. Some medical conditions (asthma, heart problems, spinal injuries) may require clearance from your doctor. Pregnant travelers should not participate. Avoid flying within 18 hours before diving.
