You drive your own single-rider ATV through 2,200 acres of Puerto Rican countryside near San Juan, following a guide through mangroves, lagoons, and limestone trails for about two hours. The guide handles safety and narrates the landscape during rest stops. Helmet, guide, and taxes are included. Afterward, you can relax at the hilltop Mojito Bar with drinks available for purchase. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early and bring a valid driver's license and a credit card for the damage deposit.
The ATV sits waiting at Hacienda Campo Rico, engine off, helmet hanging from the roll bar. You arrive 30 minutes early—the rule is firm—and meet your guide at the Mojito Bar, a structure that somehow exists on top of a hill in the middle of 2,200 acres of Puerto Rican backcountry. Safety briefing takes ten minutes. Then you're on the machine, feet on the pegs, hands on the throttle, and the guide ahead of you on his own ATV, pointing toward the first trail. The ride lasts about two hours total, which includes a short demonstration at the start and two or three rest stops where the guide talks about the land—the mangroves, the limestone formations, the animals you might see moving through the scrub.
The trails cut through different terrain. One minute you're climbing a ridge with views of mountains behind you, the next you're dropping into a ravine where the air gets cooler and the vegetation thickens. Lagoons appear between the trees. The ground changes from packed dirt to sand to something closer to mud, and you feel the ATV respond differently to each surface. Your guide stops occasionally to point out wildlife or explain the history of the countryside—what used to grow here, what lives here now. It's not a lecture; it's the kind of thing someone tells you while standing in the dust, catching their breath. The helmet stays on the whole time. Closed-toe shoes are non-negotiable. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, because you will.
When the two hours are done, you ride back to the Mojito Bar. Your guide asks if you want to stay for a drink—mojitos, beer, water, whatever you choose—and you can sit there looking out over the property, still in your dusty gear, while the afternoon settles. The bar is optional, but most people linger. You need a valid driver's license to ride the ATV, and you'll hand over a credit card for a damage deposit before you start. You have to be at least 16 years old, in decent physical shape, and not pregnant or dealing with back, neck, or heart issues. If you've had alcohol, you won't be allowed on the machine, and there's no refund if you show up intoxicated.

Is this one for you?Right for riders with a valid driver's license and moderate fitness who want to control their own machine through Puerto Rican countryside. The two-hour ride is physically demanding—expect dust, heat, and high-impact terrain—which is exactly what makes the hilltop mojito afterward feel earned.
