The experience

The van picked us up right outside our Lisbon hotel: no stress about finding the meeting point, which I always appreciate when I’m still half-awake. On the way back we stopped by Boca do Inferno (the waves crashing into the cliffs sounded like distant thunder), and then wandered through Cascais Marina. There were old fishermen mending nets next to shiny yachts. You could smell grilled sardines somewhere nearby (I regret not hunting them down). By then I’d lost track of time: in a good way.
