The morning starts in the Vinho Verde region, where you meet the owners of a family winery that has been making wine for over 400 years. After a walk through the vineyards and olive grove, a sommelier leads a tasting of regional wines with local food pairings, and one moment that stands out: opening a bottle of Port using fire and traditional tongs, a ritual that belongs to this region alone. The scenic drive that follows traces the N222 road along the Douro River, a route built into the valley's contours so the landscape unfolds continuously beside you.

Lunch arrives in the Douro Valley itself, served with DOC wines chosen to pair with the menu. Fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan options are all available, and the kitchen handles special diets on request. After eating, you board a private boat for a cruise on the Douro River: an hour of water and light with room to move around and photograph the steep vineyard walls rising from the banks. The boat carries only your group, not a crowd.

The afternoon winery is run by the fifth generation of a family with roots deep in the valley. A guided tour of the vineyards and the Port wine production facilities comes first, then a tasting of exclusive DOC wines and rare aged Ports, each one paired with something to eat.
