The experience

You arrive at From The Vine Wine Tasting Bar and spend two hours moving through Portugal without moving at all. Six wines, each from a different region, sit in front of you alongside cheese and charcuterie sourced from local Portuguese producers. A wine guide walks you through the tasting techniques (how to look, smell and taste each one), and explains what the land itself contributes to the flavor. The wines are paired deliberately: each cheese and savory side is chosen to highlight what makes that particular wine distinctive, so you taste the difference between regions as you go.

The guide covers Portugal's wine history and its place in the country's culture, moving from one region's story to the next. You learn why certain areas produce certain styles, what terroir means when you can taste it, and how to recognize the complexity in wines you might otherwise overlook. Questions are expected.
