The Experience

You've just landed in Portimão. Maybe you have an afternoon free, or you're tired of the packed beach tours everyone books. The ocean is right there. Two and a half hours from now, you could be inside the Algar de Benagil — Portugal's most famous sea cave — with nobody else around except your guide and a GoPro recording everything in 4K. It starts at Carvalho Beach, a small limestone-ringed cove you reach through a tunnel cut into the cliff. Two kayaks, two people per boat, one guide leading the way.

The paddle itself takes you along the Algarve coastline in a direction most day-trippers don't go.
