You meet at Benagil Beach, where the guide fits you with a kayak, paddle, life jacket and waterproof bag, then walks you through the basics of paddling and safety before you push off into the water. The gear includes back support to keep you comfortable during the two-hour paddle. From there, the route follows the coastline east, stopping at each cave in sequence.

The Benagil Cave itself is the centerpiece: you paddle close enough to see sunlight pour through the opening in the roof, turning the water gold and illuminating the towering rock walls. The guide explains how the cave formed and shares stories tied to the coastline. From Benagil, you move into the Pirate Cave, where the entrance is narrow but the interior opens wide, and the water glows electric blue as light filters through. The Algorinho Cave comes next. The guide tells its dramatic history before two kayaks at a time venture inside to see the hidden space. At the Crocodile Cave, the guide points out a rock formation that resembles an animal and invites you to spot it.
