You meet at 9:30 am in Puerto Maldonado and walk to the dock with your guide, then boat upriver for 45 minutes to reach the jungle site. The canopy activity starts at the first tower: you cross hanging bridges one by one, moving through the treetops, then zip-line from one tree to another. After ziplining, you return to the restaurant for lunch and rest in hammocks before the afternoon activities begin.
The second half of the day shifts to water and ground. You kayak the Madre de Dios River in turns with other passengers until you reach Monkey Island, where you walk a trail searching for monkeys. They're wild animals, so sightings vary. They may approach closely or stay distant. The guide carries binoculars and knows where to look, but the outcome depends on the animals' movements that day.
The full day takes seven hours from start to finish. Lunch is included at the restaurant between activities. Boat transfers, zipline equipment and safety gear are all provided. You'll need to be comfortable with heights for the canopy walk and ziplining, and able to paddle a kayak, though the guide takes turns with other passengers so nobody paddles the entire stretch.
What’s included
- Lunch at the jungle restaurant.
- boat transfers to and from the site (45 minutes each way).
- all zipline equipment and safety gear.
- kayak and paddle for the river section.
- live guide in English or Spanish throughout the day.

Is this one for you?The guide speaks English or Spanish, so choose based on which language you're comfortable following for seven hours in the jungle. Groups stay small enough that the guide can manage the canopy walk, zipline, and kayak rotations safely, but you'll share the river paddle with other passengers.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (8 to 17 years); Child (4 to 7 years); Infant (under 4).
What's the canopy walkway like, and how high do you go on the zipline?
The canopy activity uses hanging bridges to cross between trees at treetop level, then you zipline from one tree to another. The guide leads you across the bridges one by one before the zipline section. The exact height depends on the forest structure at the site, but you're moving through the canopy rather than at ground level.
Do you need kayaking experience to paddle the Madre de Dios River?
No experience is required. You take turns paddling with other passengers on the river, so the guide and group share the work. If paddling isn't comfortable for you, you can sit out a turn and let others rotate in.
Will we definitely see monkeys on Monkey Island?
Monkey Island has a group of wild monkeys, but sightings aren't guaranteed. They may approach closely or stay at a distance depending on their behavior that day. The guide knows the island and where to look, but the animals move freely and their presence varies.
What time does the activity end, and how do you get back to Puerto Maldonado?
The full day runs seven hours from the 9:30 am meeting time. You return to the restaurant after Monkey Island, then boat back downriver to the dock in Puerto Maldonado. The guide handles all transport as part of the activity.
